Much like The Frame Problem this painting asks us to meditate on the ‘subject’ of painting. What is the subject of painting? Of this painting? What does it mean to look into this virtual world? Is it a mirror, a window, or a flat surface? Is it internal, external, or holistic? Is she alive? Is it just paint? Or does it preserve history in profound ways? When you encounter one of my paintings you are usually encountering a question.
